Annual Senior Picnic at Red Bank Battlefield Park!

Woodbury Mews residents recently enjoyed an amazing afternoon at the Red Bank Battlefield Park for Gloucester County’s Annual Senior Picnic! Organized by town freeholders, this annual event offers a day where seniors can speak with around 20 vendors about various services available to them. In recognition of this year’s theme, “Philly Philly,” the venue had a Philly Pretzel Truck serving up fresh baked soft pretzels to hungry crowd-goers. Additionally, the event provided free lunch from Auletto Caterers, one of the top-rated catering services in New Jersey.

To our delight, the picnic hosted not one, but two Mr. Softee ice cream trucks! Picnic attendees could visit numerous vendors sharing giveaways and even stop by to test their skills at the dunk tank. Jim Jefferson, liaison to the Division of Senior Services, was once again seated in the dunk tank waiting to take a splash. Two of our residents successfully dunked him, one with the opening pitch!

We danced to lively music performed by Nice and Easy while soaking up the sun on such a gorgeous day. The location also provided breathtaking views of the river, which we stopped to admire before leaving the venue. We look forward to the next annual picnic, as each year it appears to be bigger and better than the last!
